Streetwalk is a project to help the homesickness of South East Asian living in New Zealand. As the global pandemic prevent people from traveling and seeing their home, streetwalk projected shadow play help with the homesickness by showing nostalgia of the vibe of streets in South East Asia.

 

I have conducted a survey out of 15 people to gather data in order to support my project. The data conducted asks first generation South-East Asians what they miss most from their home, where they can answer ‘street vibes’, ‘family’, ‘food’, ‘friends’, and ‘other’.

 

I then transform this data using a creative design implementation so that it can provide an experience of what they miss from their hometown even though they are still in New Zealand.
